Get to know Jeremy Jay

My man Mat, who has been doing such a fantastic job with record reviews this past few weeks, has been telling us personal stories of musical discoveries as of late...so I will do one myself. A few weeks back my room mate, Jack (who took the picture above), played me some Jeremy Jay tracks to see if I wanted to check him out that night with him. He called it "medium rock." Not too sure what that means, but in one listen, I fell in love.

Jeremy Jay reminds me of a more produced Bill Callahan in his fabulous story telling and visual imagery he produces with his Lyrics. I find him to be quirkier than Bill, but not to the point where he looses you. When I saw him at Silent Barn he was great, but his recordings are even better. Live, he plays a lot faster, and believe me we were dancing the whole time. So seriously guys and galz, get to know him!
