Peeker Day

Yesterday while enjoying a beautiful day up here in New York, I got a chill of excitement over the Park the Van Showcase this Friday in New Orleans. It has inspired me so much that I have dubbed this week Park the Van week. So we will reintroduce you to the bands that will be playing this Friday and hopefully you will learn some new things as well.

Today is The Peeker Day. I first met the Peekers back at SXSW 2007 when only Chris with Park the Van had heard of them through obsessed fan emails of obsessed Dr. Dog and the Teeth. Than one day Shy from the Capitol Years told him that he should check them out. So he helped set them up at a show at Genes Po Boys. This is where I come in. I wanted to do a piece on Louisiana Bands at SXSW and Chris told me to check them out and from the second I first rand into them I fell in love and decided to cancel all other interviews and follow them around. Here is what I made. Sorry about the bad audio. I made this at a time when Cox 10 wasn't providing me with the right equipment to do what I needed to do. I have since purchased it all. Enjoy this classic!



Boy have I gotten better as an editor. I can't seem to find part 2. The end of the story is they get asked to play the Park the Van showcase, and get signed to the label shortly after that. Not convinced yet? Well here is an MP3.
