Happy Birthday to Static TV

Three years ago today the very first episode of Static Television premiered on Cox 10 in New Orleans at 10pm featuring an interview we did in Atlanta with the Spinto Band. It stared Pami P and was produced by myself, Adam Bandera, Pami P, and Jared Holden. It has been a crazy 3 years and we have seen a lot of changes on screen and behind the scenes. We have become totally different people since those days; hopefully for the better.

The whole goal of this show was to bring music to New Orleans that I didn't feel was accessible on the radio or TV, and I feel like through our show and blog we have brought fresh music to your ears and help local bands see that they too can be players in the music scene outside of New Orleans.

The next part will be a bunch of Thank yous for the last 3 years:
First off, thanks to Adam for helping in the birth of this crazy thing. Sorry we could never find a way to work together on it. He is the one that came up with the open that I can't seem to be able to think of a better idea. I hope he is achieving everything he wanted to. Thanks to my girl Pami P, who to this day is still a shoulder I can cry on and a person I can strait up drive around and act a fool with. Thanks to Jared for your non bending attitude that has helped me have the confidence early on to do things that a once shy, unsociable person could achieve. Think that before the first episode ever aired I was scared to talk to the lead singer of TV on the Radio about getting their music videos. Thanks to Bonnie for being around through some weird times in my life and making me feel special. Thanks to Chris and Sabrina for being such amazing friends and being people I could call with any problem no matter how long we go without talking. You two will always be like siblings to me. Thanks to Cox 10 for actually putting this crazy show on the air. And of course thank you to my parents who saw the worst possible times in my life and still stuck with me and pushed me to be whatever I wanted to be. Look at me now!

Also, thanks to Park the Van Records, Kill Rock Stars, Panther, HIP Video, Rive Video, Antigravity Magazine especially Leo, Timecode:NOLA especially Perez, Noah from Gambit, Sarah Cunningham for being the best welcoming party to NYC, the fans of our show, Dirty Coast especially Blake, DNO especially Jac, Drew Stubbs and of course I know I am missing a million so to those I am sorry.

OF COURSE thanks to New Orleans for being such an amazing city to grow up in. I can't think of a better city to grow up in. You are truly my greatest inspiration and remember everything I do I do for you and so that we can one day be together again.

And finally happy 26th birthday to my boy Mat. You drink for free all night on Static TV!
