Get to know Lotus

These days I feel like I live in a vacuum. It seems my whole since of reality is told to me through my inbox. It is truly a weird feeling, being that I live in New York, but I work so much that the only way I know about anything going on is through press releases, and that is how I was reminded how much I love these guys.

Lotus' unique mix of rock and electronic sounds is sort of like Ratatat. I feel though that Lotus is a lot more varied and captures a vibe a lot better. They are totally jam bandy in the best way, but with more layers and variety to their music. I know a lot of people in New Orleans that would eat these guys up. You can get their free digital downloads of the band’s two new EPs Feather on Wood and Oil on Glass, released on October 6, 2009, on a pay as much as you want deal. If you are able to see them live in the next few weeks I would recommend it. I am hoping to catch them Saturday with RJD2 and Junior Boys. Be sure to check out a lot of their tracks on MySpace.
