Tomorrow Geronimo Festival in Lafayette will be celebrating its third birthday. Artists this year include: Givers, Caddywhompus vs. B L A C K I E, Frau Eva, Rotary Downs, Sun Hotel, Big Rock Candy Mountain, Fleur De Tease and many more. We had a chance to ask some of the bands playing a few questions. Check it out!
What is your favorite memory from past Geronimo festivals?
Quintron and Miss Pussycat was epic! I was running around the whole festival the entire time so I got a little taste of almost everything. Riding in Rickshaw's Bicycle Cabbies was pretty special as well.. it's rare to be able to go through Lafayette at multiple venues at once to see so much talent all at once. The whole thing was extremely memorable and will never be a forgotten memory. it took a lot of work and whatever you put in- you get out- and that was definitely the end result. - Teddy, Givers
Watching Imagine I am play. It was the first time we had ever seen or heard them and they really blew us away. Also we got to meet Greg Ginn, one of the founding members of Black Flag. - Chris, Caddywhompus
Two words. Pool. Party. If you want more than two words, a crazy drunken, most intense post show party I have ever attended. Paul reached new levels of manliness. - Michael, Big Rock Candy Mountain
What are you looking forward to this weekend?
Playing to a new crowd of people – Tyler, Sun Hotel
The look on the crowd's face when B L A C K I E is performing – Chris, Caddywhompus
Hanging out with all of the bands. Many of these guys are close friends. Many others are occasional friends. And a small few will be people we meet for the first time. – Michael, Big Rock Candy Mountain
Which band are you looking forward to see play?
This year I definitely won't miss Caddywhompus on the outside stage. They are always hi-energy.. also, DD and the Sensations and FIGHTS and a band from across the seas called The Scoundrels who happened to be in town and able to play.. that's cool we can incorporate a band to represent europe even! I wanna see as many bands as possible because that’s the POINT of Geronimo.. unity through numbers and be exposed to different styles and perceptions of music to help us grow. – Teddy, Givers
Alexis Marceaux – Tyler, Sun Hotel
Frau Eva – Chris, Caddywhompus
Either Caddywhompus vs. B L A C K I E or Fleur De Tease (probably Fleur De Tease, I mean really...) – Michael, BRCM
actually, i dont know, im going to check everyone out. its all good. – Michael, B L A C K I E
MP3: B L A C K I E - Look at You
MP3: Sun Hotel - Plantation Land

The Festival was smash...well done Teddy!
What a great potluck of sounds from electronic to heavy to accoustic. Loved Rotary Downs, Rex Moroux and of course the Givers. Can't wait to see what next years Geronimo brings.
