PHOTOS: Floating Points at Sunday Best 08/08/10

I am always under the belief that your musical tastes are only as good as the company you keep. Think about that. I got a call from a good friend of mine who I trust when it comes to dance music and he told me to come out to the new location for Sunday Best to see Floating Points. I wasn't hip to him, but my friend has never let me down musically and Sunday Best is now walking distance from me in Bushwick, here in Brooklyn. I was quite pleased that I decided to go. This British native is super young to have the soul music collection he has. It was hard for me to leave early to catch a steak dinner and Mad Men with some friends. Floating Points took us from the lounge to the main room seamlessly while I kept dancing into the night. Here are a few photos I took.

SPILL: A Benefit this Thursday

We at Static Television are a proud sponsor of a very special event this Thursday in New York that I would like you to be aware of. As many of you know, the spill in the Gulf of Mexico near my home in New Orleans has affected many lives across the coast and some of us from New Orleans who live in New York now are giving back the only way we know how, by getting people together and donating money to some worthy causes like Second Harvesters and Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries. So, if you are in the New York area, do try to come out to the Bell House this Thursday, August 12, starting at 7PM in Brooklyn. We will have local bands along with a ton of New Orleans food including Jambalaya and Muffalettas AND some Vodka drink specials.
